A recent decision by the EU Commission has taken away the "Presumption of Conformity" of EN 143 in respect of electrostatic filters. Products carrying the CE Mark and conforming to EN 143 are safe to use, but users are advised to consult with their suppliers as some of these products do not perform well in "damp" conditions. In such circumstances, EN 143 filters using mechanical filtering properties are to be preferred.
