Dear Members,
Following on from what has been a challenging year for us all, the BSIF are more determined than ever to assist those organisations who are offering compliant, legitimate products and services to the UK Safety & Health market.
Embracing continual improvement of what we are doing will see some changes this year as we develop and incorporate the new UKCA and UKNI legislation into what we do. In order to accomplish this and most importantly to ensure that we are doing all we can to meet our obligations to audit our RSSS members; I am pleased to announce that we have now recruited a new team member.
Luke Neale joins us on the 1st February 2021 in the newly created role of Audit & Compliance Assessor and following a short induction process will be making contact with you, our members, to set up the required audits.
Initially these will be managed virtually, although we hope to have the opportunity to meet face to face with as many of you as we can later in the year – particularly where we need to carry out an audit that requires witnessing and assessing a process being conducted (e.g. servicing and maintenance of safety and monitoring equipment such as breathing apparatus and environmental monitoring or gas detection equipment).
Below is a brief bio of Luke, from which you can see he has many years’ experience and has relevant industry and audit experience.
2020 provided us with the opportunity to review our systems and processes in relation to the Registered Safety Supplier Scheme and look to how the audit could be amended and improved, particularly to incorporate more relevance to those members providing MRO solutions amongst others.
If you have any questions relating to the Registered Safety Supplier Scheme, the Audit processes or indeed need some other assistance in relation to the Safety & Health Industry, please do not hesitate to make contact.
Keep safe & well,
Roy Wilders
