BSIF Library
The BSIF has a considerable reference library for use by members. In addition, it has listings of publications, statutory instrument and regulatory information and can access guidance documents and consultation papers issued by government departments.
BSIF Logo
All members have the right to use the BSIF member company logo on their products or literature. An electronic copy will be supplied upon request together with an information sheet setting out pantone references and rules of use.
BSIF Official Journal (Health & Safety Matters)
The BSIF’s agreement with the magazine Health and Safety Matters provides members with the facility to promote and crusade safety industry issues as well as gain tangible advertising benefits.
BSIF Press Office
The Press Office is managed by the McOnie Agency which manages all aspects of the BSIF’s involvement with the media and is responsible for press releases, the BSIF pages in the Official Journal, the BSIF website and other publications. Members can obtain summary templates of press releases to use within their own marketing.
BSIF Reference Guide to the British Safety Industry
The BSIF Guide offers unrivalled opportunity to advertise in a reference volume, designed to highlight the products and services of BSIF members. It is circulated to 20,000+ end user customers and offers excellent value.
BSIF Sponsor Exhibition ( Safety & Health Expo NEC)
The BSIF are proud sponsors of the Safety & Health Expo held each year in May at the NEC. This is the largest and most important annual exhibition in Europe and the BSIF is proud to be associated with it. We are able to offer special rates to members, backed with meeting facilities and assistance with stand design. Additionally the BSIF is able to assist in media relations and special rates for accommodation.
Chemical Handling
Managed by the HSE, this service is designed to provide simple guidance on the steps needed to protect the health of workers from a range of chemicals used in the workplace. Info via the HSE info line on 0207 717 6000.
Fit2Fit
The BSIF is the accreditation body for the Fit2Fit accreditation scheme for respiratory fit-testers. It provides a recognised competence assurance for companies needing fit testing services and is a route for members to market the competence of their staff when providing fit-testing services.
Health & Safety Regulations
The BSIF is often directly involved in pre-consultation activities and meetings with the HSE. Whilst these meetings are run by the HSE and thus no guarantees of involvement can be made, interested members may gain access, representing BSIF’s collective interest.
Information on Overseas Markets
Details of potential trading partners, local regulations on Health and Safety and other exporting information can be accessed through the BSIF or direct through the UK Trade & Investment Country Desks.
Insurance
The BSIF Insurance Service offers a wide range of policies tailored to the Safety industry. The SafeSure scheme ensures you get the best policy available often with major cost savings.
Networking Event
BSIF regularly host Networking events. These are opportunities to meet old friends and new colleagues within the industry.
Overseas Trade Fairs Exhibitions
The BSIF has arrangements with UK Trade & Investments [part of the BIS] to provide assistance and financial support for members wishing to exhibit at overseas trade fairs and exhibitions.
Political Lobbying
The BSIF has developed highly efficient lobby facilities for members to access individually or collectively. These can be directed towards UK and/or Government departments.

Standards Making Committees
The BSIF is able to nominate any member onto Standards Committees through the British Standards Institution. Members need to be aware that this facility extends to only three representatives on each committee by each BSIF association and in some cases, this is managed through an electoral system by individual associations.
The SafeCert Scheme
SafeCert is an independent self-regulatory accreditation scheme for safety professionals and trainers which has been developed by the BSIF. Its aim is to improve occupational safety standards by ensuring that consultancies and individuals providing training services and consultancy services to industry are properly audited and assessed to the BSIF standard Code of Practice.
Safety Equipment & Product Information
The BSIF provides information on the sourcing of Occupational Safety products and services to general enquirers. Only Member company contacts will be given to enquirers.
