BSIF Safety Solution Award 2019
The BSIF Safety solution award is designed to recognise major improvements in occupational safety.
A supplier of PPE will regularly be asked by customers to create solutions to occupational safety issues or potential issues within the customers business. This award recognises how these solutions can be of huge benefit to the customer, helping them to keep their employees safe at work.
These may be based upon a new service, a particular customer’s safety record or a training project that has enhanced or changed the users’ safety culture. The supplier should submit a case study to BSIF which details the initial problem and how the supplier has worked with the customer to improve on this. Customers can also comment on how the solution has helped them and led to improvements within their business.
The case studies are then reviewed by the judging panel and the winning supplier and customer are announced at the Safety & Health Excellence Awards on Wednesday 10th April 2019 at the Vox, Birmingham.
Past winners coming from a wide range of industries and services, have been as diverse as enhanced respiratory equipment fit testing, a substantial improvement in productivity plus reduced accidents in a fish farm and a specialist service to help select the most effective glove solution in any working environment.
The judging criteria for the award is below:
- Has the product or service contributed to a genuine and quantifiable reduction in accidents / health incidents within this situation (outlined by the case study)?
- Has the product or service significantly reduced total acquisition costs, whilst maintaining or enhancing safety / company performance?
- Has the product or service enhanced the health & safety understanding / culture of the users, such that these are now core to working practices?
- Has the product or service significantly improved the availability and usability of safety, health or related equipment?
